And Savannah is finally Baptized!

Well finally! It's hard to have folks in the military be your kids godparents. Between both of the guys deployments, the freak trip to Haiti for Jaesen (when the original baptism was going to take place) and us moving in two weeks, we finally had a now 3 1/2 year old Savannah Grace baptized by the Chaplain on NAS Jacksonville. In a somewhat somber note, her baptism was moved to an earlier time due to an "angel flight" coming home. A Marine Corps LCPL was killed in action in Afghanistan and was being flown home. His parents were due at church at 9, our baptism started at 830, we made it out of there just in the nick of time. Savannah did great, although like every other child, freaked out with the water being poured on her head. Her godparents (and godsister Brittany) gave her a beautiful little cross which she virtually refuses to remove. She looked like a little princess in her dress and we were just so happy to have the whole ceremony completed. And on a separate note, I do have to say that wow, we sure do clean up nice!

Savannah's New Bike

Well technically we have had the bike for about 2 weeks now, but she does love it so. We went to three different stores to find her the right size bike and it just so happened to be a Hello Kitty bike. She took to it like a duck to water and had no problem figuring out how to work it riding around Walmart with ease, even steering with no help. I have to say it was impressive, the boys both had a bit of a problem figuring it out when they went to big kid bikes from trikes, but not Miss Savannah. So everyday now we are outside watching her go to and fro and fro and to. Unfortunately, she has been watching her older brothers and is flying down driveways now, trying to make the turn to fast leading to a lot of skinned knees. But then again, she is a super tough girl, after all with Tristan and Jack she has to be.

Kids Triathlon 2010

I just have to say that I couldn't have been a more proud mama than I was today. These two boys gave this race their all. I wasn't thinking that Jack was going to be very competitive about it, he had not talked about it really and was so nonchalant I was wondering if he even realized he was going to be in a race. But when he got into the pool he kicked it into high gear and was amazing. He rode the bike great and ran like a madman. Tristan was more competitive about it all and he did awesome in the pool, passing folks, the bike was his slow part (wouldn't have figured that) and then he did an amazing all out sprint for his run. They both got medals, ice cream, bagels and were so proud of themselves. Meanwhile, to get all the photos, Jaesen and I each ran about a 5K and I did mine with Savannah in my arms for a lot of it. We both were drenched with sweat by the end of the race and needed a break too! Jack came in 11th in his age group and I will have to wait for the race results to be posted online to find out where Tristan fell in his age group because the picture was too blurry to read of his race results. It was an incredible day and we literally all came home and fell asleep! Way to go boys, we are so proud of you!
